What's the big idea?
The festival was the brainchild of a small number of locals who felt that they wanted to do more to bring the community together and that the arts provided a nice common ground. With the backing of St James' Church they embarked on planning a week of events housed in one venue that would become the community hub that April and for Aprils to come: The reCreate Marquee!
A mix of comedy, theatre, live music & more is carefully pieced together with the aim that no matter what age or background there will be something for everyone to engage with.
The festival is a non-profit making week and the team work hard to attract big acts such as Tinchy Stryder, Milton Jones & Strictly professionals whilst keeping prices affordable.
A week long ticket is somehow kept to under £30 so that anyone wanting to throw themselves into everything are able to do so without it becoming affordable.
